Heng Yang has provided integrative health services for over 15 years, including clinical practice in hospitals for over 4 years. She has extensive experience in acupuncture and oriental medicine.
Dr. Yang was born into a family of three generations of Chinese medicine practitioners in her hometown of Weihai. She became familiar with Chinese medicine and acupuncture during her childhood and has since found it to be intriguing. At the age of 20, she enrolled at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, where she received professional and systematic training in Western and Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Yang graduated from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a Doctor’s Degree in Clinical Science of Integrative Medicine, with over 10 years of combined education in integrative medicine. Her integrative medicine education consisted of a seven-year program for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chinese Medicine from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and a two-year postgraduate internship with Dr. Li Song (Director, Chief Physician, and Professor in the Ophthalmology Department of Dongzhimen Hospital). Her postgraduate specialty with Dr. Song was Diabetic Retinopathy-Dry eyes Syndrome in Integrative Medicine. After completing her master’s medical education, Heng spent three years earning a Doctorate of Philosophy, with a three-year doctoral internship with Dr. Xinyi Chen (Chairman, Chief Physician, and Professor in Hematology and Oncology Department of Dongzhimen Hospital) and Xiaomin Wang (Director, Chief Physician and Professor in Oncology Center of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine). Her doctoral specialty with Dr. Chen and Wang is Integrative Oncology. Her acupuncture and Chinese medicine education exceeds the typical three to five-year education at most oriental medicine schools and was combined with a five-year internship at hospitals, totaling over 7,000 clinical hours alone, in addition to over 3,400 didactic hours and 5,000 laboratory hours.
Dr. Yang is a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in the States of Florida, and she is Board Certified (NCCAOM) in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM), Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac), and Chinese Herbology (Dipl. CH).
